Holiday Guides - Florida

A Guide to Florida by Global Holidays

What more can we say about Florida that has not already been said? Well, in our view it has got to be one of those "not to be missed" destinations. Florida has literally something for everyone. Florida has more than just Disney and the theme parks, although we have to say that these theme parks are more than just ordinary theme parks with white knuckle rides. Florida theme parks make you forget reality and turn even the most stubborn sceptic into another Disney fan!

In Orlando there is a fantastic number of visitor attractions including Universal Studios, Sea World, Disney World and many more attractions close to Orlando feature expensive state of the art technology that leaves you reeling with bewilderment and excitement. For a holiday in Orlando there is a fantastic selection of excellent hotels at low prices or why not stay in your own Orlando villa with its own swimming pool. You will be surprised how cheap staying in a villa in Orlando can be!

Call Global Holidays on 0870 125 2960 for an excellent selection of quality holidays to Orlando and the rest of Florida.

The Gulf Coast

Only 2 hours drive away from Orlando you will find a complete contrast. Golden sandy beaches with crystal clear warm water and a much more laid back atmosphere. Most people find their way to Clearwater Beach or St. Pete's Beach where there are plenty of good quality good value hotels. In our opinion you should consider spending one week in Orlando and another week on The Gulf Coast.

You need time to relax after a hectic week in Orlando.

Further south from Clearwater you will find Naples and the islands of Sanibel and Captiva.

The Everglades

The Everglades is in fact a slowly moving river only a few inches deep. Most people go on an airboat ride through the swamps. They hope to see wildlife and maybe an alligator or two. In our experience, however, on an airboat you are travelling too fast and there is too much noise to be able to see much. Nevertheless it's worth doing it just to say you have been there and done it!

The Keys

Key West is where it all happens!

To get there you have to go over lots of bridges. One bridge is 7 miles long. Driving to Key West is good fun although the road is very busy.

Key West is the nearest part of the USA to Cuba and it has a large gay community.

Most people watch the sunset on Mallory Key. Here you can watch jugglers and fire eaters whilst you wait for that cloud to appear just as the sun sets!
